Apple Cider
Yields: About 5-6 cupsIngredients:
- 6 Apples (Fuji, Gala, Honeycrisp, etc)
- 1 Orange
- 6 cups Water
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 tsp Ginger
Directions:
- Cut Apples & Orange in half, no need to core (remove stems)
- Dump Fruit into the IP
- Add Sugar, Cinnamon & Ginger
- Cover with Water
- Lock lid in place and make sure pressure release valve is closed
- Press "Manual" button and adjust cooking time to 15 minutes at high pressure
- When done, use natural release method
- Remove Cinnamon Sticks
- Using a potato masher, mash Fruit to release leftover juices
- Using
a funnel and fine mesh strainer, carefully pour Cider into mason jars
or storage container of choice, while extracting solid bits (a second set of hands makes this easier)
- Can be kept in the fridge for up to a week
Hoff Thoughts: Can use one type of Apple or a variety; you just want to use the sweetest varieties.
