Makes: 4 Sandwiches
meat-free, dairy-free, egg-free
Ingredients:
- Hoff's Vegan, Oil-Free Pesto Sauce
- 4 slices of Whole Wheat Bread
- Half an Onion (thinly sliced)
- 8 Tomato Slices
- Daiya Shredded Cheese (optional)
Directions:
- Equally divide out Pesto Sauce onto each slice of bread
- Top with Onions, Tomatoes & Cheese
- In toaster oven or oven, Broil at 400 degrees for 10 minutes
My2Cents: I don't typically use cheese substitutes, I have just learned to live without cheese. However, I was craving a grilled cheese the other day and had some cheese left over and used it to finish off these sandwiches - nice touch, but not necessary, the Pesto is so flavorful it carries the sandwich all by itself.
